The Tour X series by Electro Voice was designed for use in clubs, at concerts and for all other professional applications. It's built for life on the road, and as such has a solid construction of plywood and MDF. This passive speaker by Electro Voice wouldn't mind setting down roots though either, perhaps as part of a fixed installation. The TX 1122 is a passive speaker with a 12-inch woofer and a 1.25-inch compression driver for the trebles.

Performance
The TX 1122 can provide up to 500 watts of continuous power with a peak of 2,000 watts, and it provides a maximum sound pressure of 130 dB without distortion. This Tour-X series is designed to give its all, and all of the components have been built to allow it to do just that. The TX 1122 is equipped with a crossover of the fourth order with a filtering of 24 dB per octave, and it has an EQ for a smooth response in the vocal range. Furthermore, the filter provides a more expansive high frequency response and has a safety circuit that protects your horn.

Construction
The woofer and driver of the TX 1122 are protected by a metal backbone grille that's been placed at an angle for extra strength. The trapezoidal cabinet is fashioned from a combination of plywood and MDF so it is both strong and lightweight. Furthermore, a unique black coating developed by EV protects the speaker from scratches and other types of cosmetic damage. The TX 1122 is equipped with six M10 (3/8 inch) mounting points and a 35mm stand adapter to offer plenty of options for placing this speaker. Finally, the built-in handles are fully adjustable and available on four sides, so you can easily place the speaker no matter its original position.
