First and foremost, thanks for checking out our blog!

I'll start off by introducing myself... I'm Ollie, the newbie at Simply Sound & Lighting if you will, and I took up the Marketing role earlier this year.

Since then we've gone through a wealth of growth and are set up to keep your DJ and lighting equipment moving for years to come, I'm sure you'll all be happy to hear!

With a new role comes lots of new opportunities and hosting the DJ Meet & Greet at our premises was something I was looking really forward to and it was only when I finally got round to the social media side of things, that I realised how great the communication in the Mobile DJ scene was. Whether it was about equipment, pricing, gig swaps or sharing knowledge, the community seemed very strong and it was nice to be apart of this.

Prior to the event in question, we decided to run an extensive Halloween promotion throughout October, so time was a little precious, to say the least! Once this had all been boxed up and shipped out, we sat down and ran through the plans for the DJ Meet & Greet. Keeping the basis the same as the previous event, we tweaked the layout (being November and bloody freezing outside we thought this a necessity) and threw around some fresh ideas in order to give something to everyone that attended. With the plans set and the artwork signed off, we went to town and started dressing the place up for the night ahead.

It was great to know that we could call upon both Chauvet DJ and FBT to come and support us in the new showroom, coupled with a wealth of merch from some of our suppliers (ADJ, Highlite, Monacor and Prolight), the goody bags were bulging with everything from mugs, pens and pads to clamps, hats and laptop bags. With our expectations on turnout rather conservative, it would seem that we hadn't made up enough to go round - a massive thanks has to go out to Mrs Playford for getting some together in the closing stages of the night :)

Not only was the night packed full of special deals and a flat 10% discount across the whole warehouse, it would seem that the biggest knockout of the night was the free refreshments courtesy of Chigly Pigs! To quote one attendee's response, "...great turn out and thank you to Simeon & all the guys at Simply Sounds for your hard work and supplying THE best sausage rolls & Rocky Road cakes I’ve ever eaten." We're not gonna lie, they are something special!

From 5:30 the attendees started coming through the doors, check out the new setup, showroom and of course what's on offer. For me, being a major part of the planning for this event, I have to admit that I totally underestimated the amount of products we had out on show! If you look at the images below from the event, you'll see how things were laid out.

From our point of view, the night was a roaring success. There was so much positivity, intrigue and anticipation across a broad range of products including the Chauvet DJ Intimidator 255 IRC, FBT Ventis Systems, Equinox Booth MKII and the Gravity Stands. which kept us busy all the way through until the early hours the following day.

It was great to see so many people interested in our B-Stock units as well as brand new, and the auction proved to be a hit with a few people walking away with absolute bargains.

The final piece of equipment that raised a large number of enquiries was the LEDJ Dancefloor that we have available for hire, including the Trade Only rate card. On a personal level, I can't sing this enough praises having hired it for my recent wedding (picture of my boy busting some moves below)! Finally, to our prize draw. A special mention has to go out to the suppliers that donated prizes for the draw, Chauvet DJ for they're Backpack and USB, Prolight for the Equinox Crossfire XP and clamp and finally to the guys at Monacor for the Center-4! A superb range of prizes which proved very popular with all of those that attended.
