Frequently Asked Questions

What are podiums and plinths used for in DJ and event setups?

▼

Podiums and plinths are used to raise equipment such as lighting fixtures, speakers or DJ gear off the ground. This improves visibility, spreads light more effectively and helps create a more structured stage or event layout.

What is a scrim and why is it used?

▼

A scrim is a fabric cover, often made from lycra, that fits over podiums, trussing or stands. Scrims are used to hide cables and equipment while creating a clean, uniform appearance, and they are commonly paired with uplighting for added visual impact.

Are podiums, plinths and scrims suitable for mobile use?

▼

Many podiums, plinths and scrims are designed with portability in mind and feature lightweight materials or flat-pack designs. This makes them suitable for mobile DJs and event professionals who need equipment that is easy to transport, set up and store.
