The topic of accessibility in particular has increasingly become the focus of organizers and authorities in recent years. With conventional cable bridge systems, a compromise often had to be made between barrier-free access and trafficability. This is different with the new DEFENDER® 2D M: A fully traversable and wheelchair-accessible ramp with a 6° incline is attached to each middle section. The loading capacity of the ramp corresponds to that of the middle part and is approx. 5 tons per 25 x 30 cm area. The gentle incline makes access much easier for wheelchair users, as it prevents the footrests from touching the ramp. But it also makes it much easier to drive over the cable bridges with forklifts and trucks.

The completely symmetrical structure of the ramps makes assembly easier and you never have to look for the right attachment again. The parts can be used multi-directionally, there are no right or left elements. Precise assembly plans are also not required. Thanks to this symmetry, by laying middle parts and ramps in a semi-composite, optimal stability in the longitudinal and transverse direction can be achieved and at the same time loose parts such as adapters and bones can be dispensed with.

The connections have been designed in such a way that they have enough play for easy assembly and still offer sufficient stability. So there is the longitudinal connection of the ramps z. B. only from a small projection that engages by pressure from above. The elements therefore do not have to be lifted again after the cross-connectors have entered. To make handling even easier, the ramps are fitted with an ergonomic carrying handle.
