The open-back cabinet simultaneously creates a more present sound in the room and provides greater sound design options when recording in the studio, as the sound of cabinet can be picked up from both the front and the rear. Plus, its removable front grille comes in handy for precision mic positioning, as well as allowing for quick speaker swaps.
