Description:

The Pioneer XPRS215S is the new 15-inch, wooden cased, subwoofer from the Pioneer XPRS range.  Within the 15mm birch plywood casing are powerful yet energy-efficient Powersoft Class D amps, 2 x 15-inch ferrite LF cone driver, an adaptable crossover switch and a phase switch.  The frequency response is 40Hz to 160Hz and SPL is 135dB half-space.

The Powersoft Class D amps provide an impressive 2400watt peak and 1200watt continuous output.  The XPRS215S subwoofer is able to offer dependable performance, energy efficiency, due to the Power Factor Correction (PFC) it incorporates.  The first-rate ferrite LF drivers and specifically designed in-built horn deliver strong and affluent low frequencies.  The crossover switch allows the user to efficiently, and with ease, modify the cut-off frequency of the low pass filter with the choice of 80Hz, 100Hz, 120Hz and 150Hz.  The phase switch allows the user to choose positive or negative polarity and avoid numerous subwoofers from cancelling one another out.

The subwoofer is easily transportable and includes specifically placed handles to assist with spreading out the weight.  The input for the subwoofer consists of two XLR/TRS combo sockets balanced and the outputs are two XLR through output balanced.

Finally, the Pioneer subwoofer incorporates thermal limiting features (to look after the amp) including:

Thermal limiter – avoids overheating
DC offset removal – shuts down as damage prevention if it blows.
Input voltage limiter – RMS and Peak
Output voltage limiter – shuts off the LF driver when it reaches its peak
AC mains over-voltage protection – guards against power surges
Output overcurrent – minimises the subwoofers output to a safe level in the event of an output overcurrent
