Der Ionic-5CX ist der kompakteste passive Koaxiallautsprecher der Ionic-Serie. Die Gehäuse sind klein, aber leistungsstark und verfügen über einen 5-Zoll-Koaxiallautsprecher (1,5-Zoll-LF-Schwingspule und 1-Zoll-HF-Schwingspule), der eine konische Abstrahlung von 70° und einen Schalldruckpegel von 117 dB (300-W-Programm) bietet. Das Gewicht wurde so niedrig wie möglich gehalten Dies ermöglicht eine schnelle Einrichtung bei Festinstallationen sowie einen einfachen Transport für tragbare Anwendungen. Der Ionic-5CX kann über die Subwoofer-Einheit ionic-12S mit Strom versorgt werden, die über einen digitalen Signalprozessor verfügt und verschiedene Voreinstellungen bietet, um ein breites Spektrum an Soundanwendungen abzudecken. Mit der ARK-optimierten Voreinstellung kann es auch über einen externen Verstärker mit Strom versorgt werden.
