Description
The JBL 310S MkIII is a powered studio subwoofer for stereo, surround, and immersive monitoring setups. Its redesigned downward-firing 10-inch driver extends your monitoring down to 26 Hz, helping you hear low-frequency details in bass instruments, kick drums, and cinematic effects. A 300W Class D amplifier provides up to 116dB peak SPL, giving you useful headroom while keeping bass controlled and defined. The patented Slipstream port reduces turbulence, helping the subwoofer retain articulation as playback levels increase.
Additionally, when it comes to fitting the 310S MkIII into your setup, selectable 80, 100, and 120 Hz crossover settings make integration straightforward. You can also bypass the internal crossover when using an external bass-management system, which is handy for surround and immersive configurations. Balanced Neutrik combo connectivity lets you connect professional audio equipment including interfaces and monitor controllers.
Hear deeper into your mix
The 310S MkIII Subwoofer extends down to 26 Hz at -10dB, giving you access to low-frequency information that might otherwise go unheard due to the difficulty to judge lower frequencies in your speakers. Its redesigned 10-inch driver uses an advanced magnetic system and downward-firing configuration to produce controlled bass with more uniform dispersion. This helps reduce placement sensitivity while giving you the low-end information needed when working with kick drums, bass instruments, cinematic effects, and immersive material.
Get controlled bass at higher levels
A 300W Class D amplifier drives the 10-inch woofer, providing the headroom needed for demanding studio playback. The 310S MkIII reaches up to 116dB peak SPL, letting you monitor powerful low-frequency material while retaining definition. Its patented double-flared JBL Slipstream port is designed to reduce air turbulence and unwanted port noise, helping bass remain tight and articulate across different playback levels. Combined with the redesigned driver, this gives you a clearer view of low-frequency dynamics when producing music, mixing video, or working on post-production and immersive content.
Fit the crossover around your setup
Getting a subwoofer working properly with your main monitors relies on effective crossover management. The 310S MkIII gives you selectable 80, 100, and 120 Hz crossover frequencies, providing flexibility when building a 2.1 monitoring system. If your studio already handles bass management elsewhere, select the external crossover bypass and let your existing processor manage the crossover instead. This makes the subwoofer equally useful when expanding into surround or immersive monitoring, while improved phase alignment helps provide a cleaner transition between the subwoofer and your full-range monitors.
Connect to professional monitoring equipment
Balanced Neutrik combo connectivity lets the 310S MkIII slot into professional studio systems using XLR or TRS connections. You can connect it to equipment such as audio interfaces and monitor controllers, while the external crossover option supports more complex bass-managed configurations. It is designed as the dedicated low-frequency extension for JBL 3 Series MkIII systems, including setups built around 305P, 306P, and 308P monitors. With support for stereo 2.1, surround, and immersive monitoring, you can expand your system while keeping crossover and bass-management options available as your setup evolves.
